The Snake Plant (sansevieria trifasciata) also nicknamed the mother-in-law’s tongue, is another great plant for beginners as they love to be neglected. They are a very hardy indoor plant as they can go up to 4 weeks without watering and they will still maintain their sharp straight edges and vivid green pattern. Snake plants can vary in color depending on the species, sometimes all green or can have a yellow border around the leaves. They can grow up to 1-4 feet tall.
These plants a very easy to take care of. They can thrive in bright light or shaded areas of the house. Allow the soil to dry in between waterings, as over watering can lead to rotting.
